Call for SciDataCon sessions and abstracts
SciDataCon 2025, organised by the two data bodies of the International Science Council, CODATA and World Data System, will be accepting submissions for session organizers and paper or poster presenters in early January. This conference is an integral part of the International Data Week, being held from 13 –16 October 2025, in Brisbane, Australia. SciDataCon is an integral part of the International Data Week providing a platform for researchers, data scientists, and policymakers to discuss pressing issues in data science.
Submissions should address one or more of the following overarching themes:
- CAREful Indigenous Data Governance
- Rigorous, responsible, and reproducible science in the era of FAIR data and AI
- Open research through Interconnected, Interoperable, and Interdisciplinary Data
- Empowering the global data community for impact, equity, and inclusion
- Infrastructures to Support Data-Intensive Research – Local to Global
- The Transformative Role of Data in SDGs and Disaster Resilience

The deadline for proposals for sessions and individual presentations is 23:59 AEST (Brisbane time zone) on Tuesday 15 April 2025 / 13:59 UTC on Tuesday 15 April 2025.
The deadline for posters is 23:59 AEST on Thursday 15 May 2025 / 13:59 UTC on Thursday 15 May 2025.
Call for Research Data Alliance Plenary 25 (RDA P25) sessions proposals is open
The next in-person Research Data Alliance Plenary will be held in Brisbane, Australia as part of International Data Week 2025.
RDA Groups and Bird’s of a Feather applicants are invited to apply. RDA Plenaries are working group meetings that bring together our unique community of diverse stakeholders, including data scientists, librarians, computer scientists, and researchers.
The deadline for session submissions for RDA’s P25 is 08:59 AEST (Brisbane time zone) Tuesday 22 April 2025 / 23:59 UTC on Monday 21 April 2025.
The RDA call for poster submissions are open.
The deadline for RDA poster submissions is on 15 May 2025 AEST / 16 May 2025 UTC.
